JAAGA carried out SPORTEX'10A at Tama Hills Golf Course on 7 October. JAAGA president Tsumagari and 52 regular and associate members (record-high participant) and Maj.Gen.Angelella (5AF/CV) and 22 USAF airmen participated to this event.
　　The participants gathered from 5:00 AM, took breakfast at the Club house, made a warm-up at the driving range, and the opening ceremony was held at practice green at half past six.　At the ceremony, president Tsumagari mentioned "It's so fine weather we have, let's enjoy playing golf.　I am afraid that Lt.Gen.Rice is not able to join today's SPORTEX because of his official business", and Gen.Angelella stated "I would like to give thanks as the representative of USAF members in place of Gen.Rice.　Though we struggle the bad weather at last SPORTEX, it's so fine day.　Let's enjoy SPORTEX."　And Mr.Fuchigami said as the representative of associate members "we could have good weather today, I hope you will be able to have best score for yourself and have a good game."
　　After the ceremony each party of US-Japan combination moved to each starting teeing ground with each golf cart.　The game was started with the staring horn signal at 7:00 AM.　All participants enjoyed good weather, pleasant conversation and playing golf.　After finishing game, we took lunch at the club house while talking pleasantly.
　　At the commendation ceremony, 1st prize, 2nd prize, 3rd prize and other awards were handed to the each winners.　The special awards were presented by president Tsumagari and Gen.Angelella.　At the closing speech, president Tsumagari pointed "we could spend the wonderful day under the good weather condition and with splendid cooperation by USAF and Tama Hills Golf Course.　Unfortunately Gen.Rice did not join today, but we hope we will play golf someday after leaving Japan.　Thank you very much."　Gen.Angelella said "Today's SPORTEX is the last game for me in Japan, I hope we could play golf with you in US.　I am very proud that I could join JAAGA convention, SPORTEX and other activities.　Thank you so much."　Finally Mr.Minoda, associate member member said "I hope that US-Japan alliance is deepened in order that we will be able to have this kind of pleasant event."　SPORTEX'10A was finished with big success.　(reported by secretariat Minamoto)
