SPORTEX'06A

　　JAAGA opened SPORTEX'06A at Tama Hills Golf Course on 2 June, this year was 3rd year since SPORTEX had been held twice a year.　Takegouchi JAAGA's presidents and 47 members included regular and associate from JAAGA, Lieutenant General Wright (USFJ/CC), Brigadier General Reheiser (5AF/CV), Colonel Goodwin (374AW/CC) and 27 USAF members from Yokota AB. participated to first SPORTEX this year.　It is a record high that many participants gather in SPORTEXs which are held in spring.　This make us realize the height of interest to JAAGA.　The reorganization of Tama Hills' administration had been made, but the operation of our golf tournament was very smooth.　Tama Hills' members did make the maximum effort for success of SPORTEX.　All participants' good behavior brought good weather, so they could have good result.　The results order had been decided every Japan-U.S. group until last year, but it was decided as a whole this time.　The following special prize were set for this time.　Special prizes were JAAGA's president prize, 5 AF/CC's prize and Yokota AB/CC's prize.　JAAGA's president prize was given to 62nd place parson, 5th AF/CC's prizes were to 18th (18th is from 18th Wing) and 44th (from 44th Squadron), and Yokota AB/CC's prizes were to 37th and 74th (37th and 74th are from the name of 374 Air Wing).　The other prizes were almost same as last year.　USAF member won 1st prize, 2nd was JAAGA member and 3rd was USAF member.　At the closing ceremony, president Takegouchi and LTG. Wright expressed the word of thanks for success of SPORTEX to Tama Hills' peoples and volunteers from JAAGA and USAF who support this.　Then Gen.Wright mentioned how important JAAGA was for a strong US-Japan defense alliance. He also mentioned that the JAAGA is the bridge between USAF & JASDF, and is a vital part of our defense here in Japan. He is looking forward to the next SPORTEX in November 2006 to again enhance our strong relationship!　I think it is very impressive speech, indeed.　
　　SPORTEX'xxB has been held on 23 Nov. every year, but this year will be set on 3 Nov.. The reason is why 23 Nov.of this year is "Thanks Giving Day".　Please join next SPORTEX.　(Reported by secretariat Minamoto)
