On 23 Nov., Labor Thanksgiving Day in Japan, JAAGA opened SPORTEX'05B at Tama Hills Golf Course to improve mutual understanding and friendship between USAF and JASDF. General Yoshida (Chief of Staffs) and 27 active duties from JASDF, Brig.Gen. Reheiser (5AF/CV) and 30 peoples from USAF, and JAAGA president Muraki and 37 JAAGA members participated to this golf competition. Very dark and early in the morning, players and volunteers assembled at the club house and took breakfast there. At opening ceremony on practice green, president Muraki encouraged players with following words. "Good weather, good golf course and good partners. Your score is on your skill. No excuse, let's enjoy" After opening ceremony, each party moved to an assigned starting tee. At just 7 o'clock, starting signal sounded over golf course, competition was started Course condition was excellent, all players enjoyed playing golf and conversation mingled with English and Japanese. Around noon, players who finished their game returned to club house and submitted score cards to competition official. All participants took lunch and waited for score totaling. After fixing the result of totaling, prize winners were announced and received prize from president Muraki. Every announcement of prize, stir occurred among participants.
