On 30th May 2012, the ceremonial event related on the relocation of Air Defense Command headquarters was held at Yokota Air Base. JAAGA officers participated. This event was under the joint auspices of Lt.Gen. Saito, commander of Air Defense Command (ADC) / JASDF, and Lt.Gen. Field, commander of Fifth Air Force (5AF) / USAF. The event was consisted of a commemorative ceremony at the auditorium and a reception at USAF NCO club. About 100 men who had worked for the relocation project were invited. Minister of Defense and other distinguished guests attended. The ceremony was started with the playing of national anthems of the United States and Japan, performed by JASDF Central Air Band and 296th US Army Band. Then the commander of ADC and 5AF gave address, and Minister of Defense and other guests delivered congratulatory speeches. In the addresses and speeches, they talked about the process of Hqs.ADC's relocation, the uncertainty of security environment around our country like as North Korea issue, the activation of China's activity and etc. Also they showed the expectation of deepening of security alliance between two nations with this relocation. The reception was American style and very friendly. During the reception, the Japanese Drum Beating was performed by the airmen from JASDF Iruma AB, and both NCO chiefs of USAFJ and JASDF had a cooperated and congratulatory speech for the relocation at the end of reception.
