On 11st May, JAAGA held annual convention at Grand Hill Ichigaya. The convention is composed of three functions, general assembly, memorial lecture and social gathering.　The general assembly was valid with 57 regular members and 174 letters of attorney.　At first, all participants silently prayed for Colonel Eiichi Takasu (JASDF retired, JAAGA member, died last year).　General Muraki (JAAGA president, JASDF retired) gave an address "I'm proud and satisfied that JAAGA is well functioning, and express sincere appreciation for members' cooperation and supporting to JAAGA and especially for all secretariats' devotion".　Whole measures which the executives submitted were adopted unanimously.　General Syoji Takegochi, former Chairman of the Joint Staff Council, is installed as JAAGA chairman

　　JAAGA associate members, active duties from JASDF & USAF and members of Japan Defense Agency (JDA) joined to memorial lecture which was held after general assembly.　The lecturer was Lieutenant General Bruce A.Wright, Commander of US Forces Japan (USFsJ) and 5th Air Force, the lecture title was "The Future Vision for Joint Bilateral Command & Control (C&C)".　At first, he talked about Joint Task Force.　This subject was very timely for Japan because JDA was now strengthening Joint Staff Council function.　Another subject was the issue of Ballistic Missile Defense.　He stated that Information Technology (IT) for C&C function was key to this 2 issues.　We could come to know very interesting topics which he showed one after another.　Although he talked about importance of communication tool or system (C&C and IT), he strongly remarked that the most important issue for joint and/or bilateral operation was the human relation. 　After lecture, he gave answers to all questioners.　General Wright closed the memorial lecture with words of "One Mission, One Team!"

　　From 6:00pm, the social gathering started.　The high ranking officials from JDA and USFsJ, Yamazaki JANAFA vice president and many distinguished guests attended the party.　Totally about 200 peoples participated in it.　On the stage, Mr. Muraki started his speech with words of "Okaerinasai (welcome back) , General & Mrs. Wright.　Pentagon selected the best parson for Commander of USFsJ", and he expressed appreciation to General for attending to annual convention with changing schedule of TDY.　General Yoshida, Chief of JASDF, Lt.Gen.Wright and other honored guests gave speeches.　Two hours party was over in an instance.　It's very successful!　(Reported by secretariat Yoshida)
