Farewell for Col.Schissler

　　On 17th May, the farewell party for Colonel Mark O.Schisller was held at Yokota AB.　Col. Schisller has commanded 374th Airlift Wing and been the commander of Yokota AB since July 2003.　He'll move to Pentagon after finishing his assignment at Yokota.　The assignment to Pentagon is fourth to Colonel.　Around 100 peoples who are related to the activities of Yokota AB, were invited to the party held at the officer's club.　Col. Katoh (Commander of Fuchu AB) & Col. & Mrs. Miyazawa (Liaison) from JASDF, the persons concerned from Defense Facilities Administration Agency, the mayor of Tama city and many distinguish guests participated.　From JAAGA, 6 secretariats and 2 regular members did.　The party started with singing both countries' national anthems.　After this, the representative of each groups had farewell speech.　JAAGA secretariat Ochi as first speaker pointed about Colonel Schissler's splendid achievements, especially contribution to improve the friendship between both countries through many activities like as Open House, Friendship Day, Japanese Culture Day etc.　Also he stated that the next assignment to Pentagon is the step for Flag Rank , so hope to pay attention for health and be diligent for new assignment.　After all speech by the group's representative, Colonel Schisller talked to participants in Japanese alike he had done.　Colonel summed up the events during his assignment in Japan, and pointed the assignment to Yokota is so fruitful for him.　All participants nodded at his comment.and applauded him.　Change of command ceremony is scheduled on 1 July.　The successor is Colonel Scott P.Goodwin.　(Reported by secretariat Enoki)
