On 2nd September(Sat), 22nd Special Olympics of Misawa AB. was opened under good weather for athletic activities.　56 Japanese handicapped students from "Mominoki-Gakuen" were invited to this game, who live together at dormitory located in Hitinohe-Cho Kamikita-Gun, Aomori-Prefecture.
　　At this game, 3 or 4 supporters from USAF took care of 1 handicapped student. Though several students were excited for attending this event, supporters made them calm cooperated with volunteer interpreters and carers from their home.　After Brig.Gen. Angelella declared opening, game was stared.　50m and 70m run were performed at apron area.　At aircraft hanger, football and Frisbee throwing, basketball shooting, and other games were carried out.　Every times the players got good score, audience gave cheer and applause loudly to them 　At lunch time, airmen and their family of Misawa AB. performed Japanese drums playing.　
　At commendation presentation ceremony after games, all game participants were received medals.　We suppose they enjoyed this Olympics very much.　At 2:30p.m. they left Misawa AB for their dormitory.　JAAGA started to donate to Misawa Special Olympics from this year.　　(Reported by Ozawa, head of Misawa branch)
