Col. John F.Newell, commander of 374th Airlift Wing and Yokota AB., received sudden transfer order on 7th April, and his farewell party sponsored by 374AW was carried out on 11st April at Yokota Officers Club.　Lt.Gen.&Mrs.Rice (commander of 5AF & USFJ), Maj.Gen.&Mrs.Angelella (vice commander of 5AF), many airmen and their spouses, members of friendly organizations around Yokota AB..　Many people participated in this party, and farewell party was very successful.　Because of very sudden transfer order, so we could not notify this to JAAGA members and chairman Hirose and secretariat Bandoh attended on behalf of JAAGA.　At greeting speech Col.Newell talked his memories in Japan and expressed his gratitude for attendants.　And memorial photographs taken in Japan were projected onto the screen of party hall.　Some were snapshots with JAAGA members.　We guess that many participants could realize good exchanging and relation between JAAGA and Yokota AB..　We hope Col.Newell will play active part at his new post.
