1. Goal:
The goal of this organization is to contribute for improving of mutual
trust between Japan and the United States of America through the activities
which promote mutual understanding and friendship between the United States
Air Force (USAF) and the Japan Air Self Defense Force (JASDF).
2. Title of Organization :
The organization is called Japan-America Air Force Goodwill Association
(JAAGA)
3. Headquarters:
The headquarters is located in Tokyo. The branches' location are in Misawa
and Okinawa.
4. Activities:
Major activities to meet our organization's goal are:
(1) Encourage the members of JASDF and USAF
(2) Support JASDF and USAF on their exchange program
(3) Support USAF's airmen for study-tour in Japan
(4) Conduct public information and support USAF's public information
(5) Conduct other activities as required to meet the goal.
5.Membership:
Membership consists of the following categories:
(1) Regular members: Former JASDF members who volunteer to join
JAAGA, agreeing to its goal, and who are endorsed by the President.
(2) Associate members: Individuals, group and corporations who agree
to JAAGA'sgoal and support its activities, and who are endorsed by the
President based on the recommendation of the Board of Trustees.
(3) Honorary members: Former Fifth Air Force commanders and/or former
Pacific Air Forces commander since the foundation of JAAGA who accept
the President's request to join.
6. Officers:
(1) Officers of JAAGA are basically selected from regular members
as follows:
President : 1 Voted from trustees at general assembly
Vice Presidents : 3 Same as above
Auditors : 2 Same as above
Trustees : 36 Max. Designated by the President from the members
Chairman of the Board : 1 Designated by the President from the trustees
Vice Chairman of the Board : 1 Same as above
Secretariats : 30 Max. Same as above
Head of branch : each 1 Designated by the President from the regular
member
Secretary of branch : each 1 Designated by the head of branch from
the regular member
(2) A trustee cannot assume the position of auditor at the same time, and vice
versa.
(3) Term of office is 2 years, which may be extended.
(4) The President temporarily designates trustees in the middle of fiscal
year,
and should get approval at general meeting
7. Duties:
(1) The President represents JAAGA and exercises overall control of its
activities.
(2) The Vice Presidents assist the President and act on his behalf during his
absence, in order of precedence set by the President.
(3) The Trustees comprise the Board of Trustees and discuss major matters
of
activities.
(4) The Chairman of the Board takes control of activities under the order of
the President and presides over the Secretariat Council.
(5) The Vice Chairman assists the Chairman and acts on his behalf during his
absence.
(6) The Auditors inspect assets, accounts and execution of activities
(7) The Secretariats compose the Secretariat Council and give consideration
to
activities, and manage allotted business for the activities under the
order of
the Chairman.
(8) Head of branch takes charge of area activities by this charter and
the
decision of the Board of Trustees
(9) Secretary of branch carries out the branch activities by this charter
and the
decision of the Board of Trustees
8. Advisors:
JAAGA has several advisors.
(1) The President selects advisors from regular members.
(2) Advisors are consulted on matters as required by the President.
(3) The term of office is 2 years, but possible to reappoint if necessary
9. Meetings:
JAAGA holds meetings of the General Assembly, Board of Trustees, and
Secretariat Council.

d.Revision of the rules of the organization
e.Other important matters for JAAGA management
(2) Matters for Board of Trustee decision
a.Identification of matters that do not require referral to the General
Assembly

(3) Matters for Secretarial Council decision
a.Execution of matters that have been approved by the General
Assembly or Board of Trustees.
b.Identification of matters that should be discussed by the Board of
Trustees.
c.Execution of activities that do not require authorization from the
Board of Trustees
10. Annual Membership Fees:
Regular member (member, less than 8 years) : 5,000 yen
Regular member (member, more than 8 years) : 4,000 yen
Individual associate member : 10,000 yen
Group associate member : 20,000 yen
Corporate associate member (non profit Orgniztion) : 20,000 yen
Corporate associate member (corporate/enterprises) : 50,000 yen
Honorary member : No fee
