What is the JAAGA?
  JAAGA (Japan-America Air Force Goodwill Association) is an organization mainly composed of Japan Air Self Defense Force (JASDF) veterans. Its objective is to contribute to the promotion of friendship and mutual understanding between the JASDF and the U.S. Air Force (USAF). We endeavor to support efforts to establish an open and comfortable environment in which JASDF and USAF members work.

What is the main purpose of establishing the JAAGA? ;
  It will soon be the 50th anniversary of the founding of the JASDF. During the past 50 years, under the Japan-U.S. Security Treaty, the USAF and JASDF have cooperated closely in accomplishing our mission to protect our country from threats from the sky. For the sake of our country's security and prosperity, we believe it is essential to maintain the strong bond between the USAF and JASDF. From this point of view, our organization's mission is to contribute to establishing an open and comfortable environment in which JASDF and USAF members work, and to provide support for sound U.S.-Japan relations. As for the running of our organization, we believe wholeheartedly in voluntary work, without expecting something in return.

How is the JAAGA structured? ;
  JAAGA was established in the summer of 1996, as an affiliate of the "Tsubasa-Kai", which consists of retired JASDF members. JAAGA operates independently with a self-supporting accounting system. As of the end of March 2016, there were 250 regular members who are retired from the JASDF, and 115 individual and cooperative associate members. We have been welcoming the successive former commanders from the U.S. 5th Air Force as honorary members since the foundation of JAAGA. The organization consists of 3 Vice Presidents, 40 (max) Trustees and 2 Auditors under the President. One Chairman, 1 Vice Chairman of the Board and 35 (max) secretariats are designated by the President from the trustees. We also have advisors from retired chiefs of staff from the JASDF or equivalent.
