JAAGA Award 2010 in Okinawa ceremony and reception was carried out at the NCO club "Blue Coral" of JASDF Naha Air Base on 4 February 2011.  It is 13rd since 1998. Lt.Gen. Hidetoshi Hirata (commander of Southwestern Air Composite Division (SACD)), Maj.Gen. Masahumi Yamada (commander of 83rd Air Wing and Naha Air Base) and 10 airmen from JASDF, Col.Roftiel Constantine (18th Support Group commander) and 7 airmen from USAF participated in this event. Also Mr.Atsushi Nerome (Okinawa Defense Association, Youth group length), Mr.Yoshio Isakawa (Naha AB Cooperative) were invited as the distinguished guest. Gen.(ret) Tsumagari (JAAGA president), Maj.Gen.(ret.) Ishidzu (head of Okinawa branch) and 3 JAAGA officers attended from JAAGA. After the ceremony was started with the playing Japan and US. national anthem performed by SACD band (1st Lt. Yoshitaka and 20 band members), president Tsumagari had the opening remarks and explained the significance of JAAGA activities, and expressed the appreciation on the support to JAAGA, especially to the members of Naha AB who have positively supported to this ceremony.
  The award winners this year in Okinawa are Master Srg.Hiromasa Namiki (Hq. SACD, JASDF) and Master Srg.Jerry Laney (18th Support Sq. USAF). They worked together to develop education programs and seminars.  President Tsumagari handed the awards to the winners and award plaques to their wives, then talked to their wives and praised their wives great support. After then Col.Constantine and Maj.Gen.Yamada had speech, they congratulated the award winners and mentioned the importance of promoting the trust between the U.S. Air Force and Air Self Defense Force and the friendship between two countries. At the beginning of the reception, Naha AB Drums Club members played powerful Japanese Drums performance, then participant broke the top of Japanese Sake barrels for commemorate the goodwill between Japan and the United States. After the requesting toast by Mr.Nerome, the social time started. During this reception, the winners pointed the US-Japan exchange program is very instructive and exciting to both sides and they could accomplish their works with supporting by their colleague. It was very impressive that they expressed sincere appreciation their wives supporting.
