JAAGA announces winners of JAAGA Award 2006. Awards are presented to members of JASDF and USAF by JAAGA, who remarkably contributed for mutual understanding and improving friendship between Japan and United States. And awards are handed at annual award ceremony of each USAF base. This year as average year, representative of JAAGA attended USAF's annual award ceremony to present JAAGA award to winners.  Ceremonies were held at Misawa on 2 Feb., at Kadena on 3 Feb. and at Yokota on 17 Feb.2007. Winners and their achievement are as below.

Especially, the joint heavy lift emergency operation of an operational JASDF F-4 as well as the restoration of the F-4 static aircraft on display in front of the 35 FW Headquarters are fine examples of USAF and JASDF maintainers literally working together. Your personal and professional relationship with your Japanese counterparts include sharing readiness training with the introduction of the flightline to the JASDF on the joint exercise operations to include chemical warfare training complete with donning the USAF chemical suit ensemble..

In addition, your flawless execution of more than 35 NCO exchange visits to Yokota Air Base and reciprocal visits to several regional JSDF installations provided an incredible opportunity for hundreds of Noncommissioned Officers from the JASDF and the U.S. Air Force to learn about each others cultures, processes and military traditions.

  As the Kadena Air Base Bilateral Non -commissioned Officer Exchange Program Coordinator you were integral in the planning, organizing and coordinating of a 10-day exchange visit of six United States Air Force noncommissioned officers to Nyutabaru Air Base, Japan, and a 10-day exchange visit of seven Japan Air Self-Defense Force non -commissioned officers to Kadena Air Base, Japan. Your personal involvement, exemplary leadership skills and commitment to excellence resulted in the complete success of both exchange visits and greatly enhanced the mutual understanding and friendship between the Japan Air Self-Defense Force and the United States Air Force.
