to spend Christmas season with you all. When we have this Christmas season
every year, we think, instead of thinking for granted we could have happy
life surrounding with family in the splendid country, we refresh our thought
to live while thinking about them. Two months past since we arrived at
Japan. We sincerely appreciate for the kindness and warm hearted hospitality
provided to us by many Japanese peoples during this period. Today we have
Open House to give you back little for your kindness. This year is 50th
anniversary of revised US-Japan Security. When we think about US-Japan
relationship and both countries peoples of 70 years ago and when we watch
today's circumstance and close condition related on US-Japan security,
we feel the splendor of human spirit. And when I think that both countries
which fought against each others 70 years ago are able to be in existence
like today, we could have hope for the many kind of problems occurring
in the world today" And the commander requested a toast for close
friendship and alliance between US and Japan, and added "Please have
a happy new year!" At the end of party we sung "We wish you a
Merry Christmas" in chorus, the event was over. (reported by secretariat
