On 4th July (Sat), America Fest 2009 was carried out at Kadena AB..　We guests　gathered at the chapel near 1st gate of Kadena at about 10:00 A.M..　There we took USAF bus for event area.　Event area is the aircraft parking in the north side of Kadena runway.　Rainy season in Okinawa was over, it was so clear on that day.　Temperature rose very much caused by direct and reflected sunlight.　As distinguished guests, Maj.Gen. & Mrs.Miyagawa, Commander of JASDF 83rd Air Group, and Rear Admiral Komatsu, Commander of Fleet Air Wing 5 (JMSDF), joined in this event.　At 11:30 A.M., the memorial reception was started with the speech by Brig.Gen.William who had been the lecturer of 2009 JAAGA convention.　His humorous speech made whirlpool of laughter by participants.　After greeting, participants took dishes and made hamburger with preference of each persons and tasted American burgers.　Special exhibition of aircraft this year was F-22 "Raptor".　Displayed aircraft except F-22, everybody could touch, but it was surrounded with rope and isolated.　Photography was not limited.　I had thought that F-22 was larger and more black, but it was not so large and the body color was gray.　I suppose that number of shops increased, but scale of America Fest had reduced since 9.11.　For memory of America Fest 2009, I got a F-22 T-shirt which was brought from CONUS by F-22 unit members. 　(Reported by Mr.Ishidu, head of JAAGA Okinawa branch)
