On 21st Sept., Colonel O'Shaughnessy, commander of 35th Air Combat Wing, held Air Force Ball in Misawa '07 to celebrate 60th anniversary of United States Air Force. Mr.&Mrs.Yamamoto, secretary of JAAGA Misawa branch, participated to it. Four general officers from JASDF (NADF/CC, NADF/CV, 3rdW/CC and NACWW/CC), commander of Fleet Air Wing (US Navy), two from Japan Maritime Self Defense Force, and mayor of Misawa city were invited as distinguished guests. Dinner party was started with distinguished guests and national flags entrance, national anthem chorus, praying, introducing guests, ceremony for POW & MIA and other. Cakecut for USAF 60th anniversary was done by Lt.Gen.Wright, commander of US Forces in Japan, and youngest airman in Misawa Air Base. After JASDF members in Misawa performed drum playing, Gen.Wright had speech. At beginning of speech, Lt.Gen.Wright pointed "Misawa Air Base is very important base. Mayor of Misawa city and Misawa citizens understand this importance and we keep fantastic relationship each others (outline)". Dinner party was closed with singing of Air Force Song, then dance party was started. We could have very happy night.
