JAAGA annually sent associate members to USAF & JASDF bases.　This year, associate members visited Okinawa based bases, Kadena (USAF) and Naha (JASDF) AB on 2nd-3rd May.　The party was organized with 8 individual and 14 corporation associate members, then Mr. Tetsuo Goshima from Nabtesco was selected for leader.　5 JAAGA officers (secretariat Iwasaki (Lt.Gen. retired JASDF) and others) accompanied with party. On 2nd May, tour participants gathered at Iruma base operation on time, then received explanation about detail schedule of tour and flight briefing there.　C-1 cargo which members were on board took off Iruma AB at 9:00 AM, after 3 hours flight, landed at Naha AB.　The leader and JAAGA representative paid courtesy visit to Maj.Gen.Yoneo Hagiwara, vice commander of Southwestern Composite Air Division.　After taking lunch at Naha, members observed F-4EJ/Kai at 302nd Flight Squadron (JASDF).　They moved to Kadena AB and got check-in at Kadena's VOQ, then Mr.Goshima and LTG Iwasaki had courtesy visit to Brig. Gen. Jan-Marc Jouas, commander of 18th Wing (UASF).　USAF side provided us explanation about Kadena AB at briefing room.　After taking photo in front of displayed F-15 fighter aircraft for commemoration on this visit, we moved to Kadena Officer's Club to have dinner party.　Gen.Jouas and key members of Kadena AB, JASDF key members from Naha AB and head of JAAGA's Okinawa branch participated.　During party, Japanese high school students performed Karate exhibition game.　Goodwill and friendship was spread between participants.　On 2nd day, after taking breakfast at NCO mess, we had base-tour to see main facility of Kadena AB.　In this tour, we could see KC-135 aircraft at 909 Air Refueling Squadron, receive mission briefing related on AWACS and F-15 at 18th Flight Group headquarters, visit 44th Fighter Squadron to see their operation room and pilot's personal equipments.　And we visited detachment of 302 Fighter Sq.(JASDF) that is on alert for scramble, they demonstrated scramble take-off.　This detachment is temporally deployed there because of Naha runway construction.　While this tour at Kadena AB, Brig.Gen.Jan-Marc Jouas accompanied with our group, he explained us in person at key points.　We all were deeply impressed by his eagerness and warm hospitality.　All scheduled issues were finished without trouble, we safely returned to Iruma AB with C-1 cargo.　Whole participants to this tour could observe and understand about actual activities of JASDF & USAF in Okinawa.　It was very successful visit.　(Reported by secretariat Murata）
