The first JASDF-USAF Joint Air Defense Exercise (Cope North) and Joint Air Rescue Exercise (Cope Angle) in JFY'04 were carried out in Okinawa area since 7th Jun. '04. On 8th Jun., Mr.Ishizu, head of JAAGA Naha Branch, and Mr.Iwasaki, JAAGA secretariat for Joint Exercise Support, had courtesy visit to Commander of SWCAD (South Western Composite Air Division, JASDF) at Naha air base. Then JAAGA representative presented support money to Col. Abe, Exercise Control Officer (ECO) of JASDF, and to Lt.Col. Anselmo, ECO of USAF from HQs/5AF. They had friendly talks and encouraged excersise paticipants there. Subsequently, they moved to Naha Air Rescue Squadron (JASDF) to meet Lt.Col. Kunitake (Commander & JASDF's ECO of Cope Angel), and presented support money. Also support money to USAF's rescue squadrons was sent through Lt.Col. Kunitake. Both exercises were planned to carry out at same aerospace and same time and to be combined each others for the first time. Although exercise of 1st day favorably was carried out, typhoon and seasonal rain front badly influences this exercises. The support money by JAAGA would be spent for social gatherings after exercise debriefing meeting. (Reported by secretariat Iwasaki)
